Blue water supply MDPE should be laid in a trench at a depth of at least 750mm (measured from the pipe crown), but no deeper than 1350mm from the finished ground level. At least 350mm away from other utilities, such as gas or electricity pipes/ducting. Some water authorities allow MDPE to be laid at a shallower depth, however this will depend on various circumstances, and must be protected with some form of external insulation such as our SHalloduct; if considering this, please check local water authority guidance |
